This illustration was made with a dot work technique. Very typical for me, is making illustrations that have animals, especially birds.
Growing up, my stepfather thought me a lot about these animals,
and I couldn't help but grow just as fascinated by them as he is.
This graphic illustration was made for Maastricht Museum.
For an assignment I got from them, I had to pick one object from their collection and make a "sneak peek" to awaken the guests curiosity.
I went with a bird-shaped ashtray from Mosa, and decided to draw this mysterious dot-work temple-like piece.
This is a poster I made with the intention to convey a message about how little mercy we have for many animals on this planet. If you want to see change, because for example the environment is not doing well and its affecting polar bears, how do you expect to make such a big change If you can't even have mercy for smaller animals.
I made this drawing by taking a picture of a spider in my backyard,
then I put the drawing under a paper and started working over it on a new piece of paper with dot work. Then I scanned it into my laptop and made the graphical elements in photoshop.
Again a pigeon themed graphical illustration. This was made by first illustrating a pigeon, then working over it with dot-work, scanning it into my laptop and working on it in photoshop.
As you can maybe tell, I am pretty fascinated by spiders.
Here I decided to make a print that from far seems simple and elegant, but when you come closer you'll see that you got fooled and I made you fascinated by spiders! I really enjoy working on these detailed wavy prints.
The illustration was also made by me, using dot work. The original drawing I made of this spider is as big as an A-4 paper. There is so many details that im very proud of.
Just as with birds, fish are animals that I am very fascinated by.
This drawing was made for my stepdad, for his birthday. He really enjoys fishing and I thought; let's make a personalized card for him!
For this drawing I used a lot of blackwork, showing the beautiful contrast in the fish's skin, using dark and light color.
